TG's Tornado Story
Trajan Grobler (TG), the founder and driving force behind Tornado, is renowned for his extensive racing career and passion for speed. With decades of experience in race preparation, engine building, tuning, and suspension, he has made—and continues to make—significant contributions to the motorsports community.
The company is named after the Tornado, a motorcycle that TG always dreamed of owning. As far back as 1996, he scoured the world for parts to build a blue Tornado Replica, which is shown in the picture. Both 750cc and 1100cc versions were produced, and many owners still ride them today. To learn more, you can find articles in the blog section.
TG’s journey goes beyond speed; it’s about inspiring others to embrace the thrill of riding. Currently, he is focused on enhancing motorcycle performance, aesthetics, and safety for road riding at his workshop in Alberton.
In 2007, TG suffered a racing accident that left him a paraplegic. Despite this life-altering event, he remains determined to ride and improve both the performance and appearance of motorcycles. In 2008, he modified a Yamaha R1, enabling him to navigate a track at impressive speeds, even if not as fast as during his racing days. Since then, TG has developed a range of modifications specifically designed for riders with disabilities, many of which can be seen in the product and gallery sections.
